Thank you Nerida --------- Original Message --------- Subject: Fw: IMPORTANT NOTICE - Additions to Time Limits - Tournament Regulation From: Jan Sage Date: 4/22/14 12:21 am To: CNSW Secretary Hi Nerida, Would you please send this message to CNSW Club Secretaries, [...] Thank you, Jan Sage Hi Everyone, The attached amendment to Tournament Regulation 16 - Time Limits, has been added to the ACA Tournament Regulations and should appear on the ACA web-site the next time the site is updated. These are very important explanations and need to be distributed to all active referees and umpires in your jurisdiction. Please also ensure that those Examiners and Trainers in your State are also aware of the need to pass on these important definitions. These additional explanations bring Australia in line with the authorized tournament regulations and accepted practice within New Zealand and the UK and current practice in the USA. FYIO - Whenever and wherever possible the Big Four (MacRob countries) agree to accept the same practice though each remain entitled, if they wish, to make alternate local tournament regulations or slight variations to wording, it is desirable we all try to achieve consistency in order to lessen confusion. 16.4 You will note there is an extended explanation as to how and when a bisque may be used. It does not alter most player’ or officiator’s perception of what has always been the regulation but there have been several queries on the matter, which has encouraged us to give a more detailed explanation to avoid confusion or incorrect interpretation. 16.3.1 A more detailed explanation of how to determine whether the Striker’s turn ends before, or after time is called. There are now four specific criteria listed by dot points that will greatly assist officiators in determining the correct call and reduce the amount of searching and cross-referencing within the law book and ORLC.
